Hyro scores identity win with Vic Gov
October 16, 2009
ASX-listed services player, Hyro (ASX: HYO), has won what it claims is a significant tender with the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD).

Under the new contract, it will provide identity and access managements solutions to over 50,000 teachers, 500,000 students and 1 million parents across the state. In a statement, Hyro said its Idaptive Digital Identity and Access Management product suite would integrate with existing business systems and deliver secure access to data and resources across both government and non-government systems. It is designed to support and protect data privacy.

Hyro partner alliances director, Michael Hodder, declined to discuss the monetary value of the deal, or the timeframe it had agreed to, but said it had worked previously with the department.

The company stated its Idaptive solution employed open, interoperable standards that comply with federal and state mandates. It supports both .Net and Java platforms.

Hyro has partnered with Microsoft to provide the operating system, database and networking technologies as well as consulting services. Technologies involved include Silverlight 3, Windows Cardspace, SQL Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 and other emerging tools, Hodder said.

The latest win comes one month after Hyro announced it had secured two other Victorian Government contracts – one with the Victorian Department of Innovation, Industry and Regional Development (DIIRD) to enhance its solution architecture for intranet services and improve its IT platforms; and the other with Aboriginal Affairs Victoria (AAV) for the provision of application development services.
